How to get your tech business in the press without having to spend a penny on PR

Some say PR is dead. Personally, I don’t think so. We have been featured in some many media with and without the help of a PR agency. How did we still manage to get featured in the press without the…

Do You Actually Practice the Advice You Ask For?

Something so simple, yet uncommon.

The world is full of people asking for advice and detaching from the answer. It’s uncommon to do otherwise. Luckily for us, as goal-getters and dream-chasers, we establish our dwelling in the uncommon.

Self-help, self-improvement, personal growth, personal development — whatever the hell you want to call it — is only useful when you practice what it teaches. People don’t do this.

I’ve ignored advice that I sought many times before (and still do), and often it was a mistake to do so. Don’t get me wrong, some advice is simply bad advice.

But I’m referring to those things you know you should do; those things that successful people, who are where you want to be, tell you to do; those things that you will later come back to anyway and kick yourself because you should’ve followed it sooner when someone pointed you in that direction.

Why seek this information and do nothing with it? We have to change this.

They don’t do what it says.

Okay, fine. I’ll give them a little more credit: maybe they do work on the advice. Maybe they do “do the thing”. But for how long, though? We are so quick for results that we don’t stick with something long enough to see said results. How ironic.

How ironic it is to place our dreams on such a high pedestal and hope to get there quickly. What’s the point of making this thing a big deal? What’s the point in taking your personal development seriously if you’re not going to treat it like it’s a serious endeavor?

Did you think developing yourself would be easy? Boy, I hope we value ourselves more than that. Easy isn’t worth it.

The world is trying to help you. People are trying to help you. The “secrets” to success aren’t even secrets. They are sprawled all over in the form of books, podcasts, videos, blogs, etc.
