It has been 6 months since I started the great journey of blogging and sharing my experience here on Medium, in which I learned a lot and got to know great people and writers. I do not regret any moment I spent on Medium writing or thinking about what should I do next, how can I improve my writing, do people like what I share? etc.
However, I keep getting this question from my friend: How much money did you make? Is it true that people make 100000$ from one story? Should I quit my job and become a writer?
For the past 6 months I made around 110$, as shown per month below:
Now if you look at the table above, you will see that there is a peak in March, that was because one of my stories went viral for one month and then went down to almost 1$ per month until now. So to make the comparison fair, I would say that let’s remove this outlier and consider every month on average I made around 10$.
In March I made 65$, you might want to know how many views/reads I got to my story to make this money.
Below is my stats from March, but before digging into that successful story details, let’s check other stories.
I managed to write 54 stories from February until the end of March, I still have 32 draft stories which I would love to close and publish, I try not to start any draft unless I am sure it is worth sharing and I can add something nice and unique to the topic.
