Creative Parenting with Harry Potter

Despite the monstrosity that the author has revealed herself as being, Harry Potter is an important factor in parenting my four kids. More than likely, we would not use these parenting approaches if…

2022 overview

As we start to wrap up the year, we’d like to share what we’ve been up to, and a summary of our plans for 2023.

We’ve said it many times — we love data.

We believe it’s the best way to improve artist & music NFT discoverability, as well as bringing extra reassurance to potential new supporters.

Gathering this data allowed us to identify some of the weaknesses web3 tech has when it comes to music and rights management. NFT & song metadata in most blockchains is incomplete and does not offer the information needed to allocate revenues to multiple rightsholders.

What a year for web3 music.

We’ve had it all: blockchain drama, fraud, volumes sunk… However, it’s been a year for building and working hard to resolve problems that are still prevalent in both the old and the new music industry.

For starters, we created a unique music uploader. This allows musicians register their music on chain at no cost (that’s right, always free. Not even transaction costs!) and free NFT generation for rightsholders.

We’re also in the process of building our tools in other chains. More on that later.

If you’ve been keeping up with our updates, you’ll know we changed our model.

Music companies have loved the way we’re supporting music makers and have built great partnerships with fantastic companies (e.g. DeWolfe Music, Plazma Records, Big Indie Records to name a few).

Our tech prevents metaverse & games in web3 from music IP infringements. As complex as this might sound, they’re loving it. We became the Blockchain Game Alliance’s music partner and are now growing our partner network of games.

This ensures we protect the metaverse & game builders while ensuring rightsholders get paid.

We’ll continue building our data analytics to bring more transparency to the music business.

Transparency and data will allow us to track more music usage and ensure we report, track and collect music royalties for musicians.

We’ll release a new product update that will ensure royalties from music streaming in web3 are paid in real time

As mentioned above, we’re in the process of building our tools in other chains. We’re keeping this a bit quiet for now but we can’t wait to share all the details in early 2023!

And that’s a wrap! 2022 has been a busy year full of learnings and new partnerships. The team is very excited to release new updates and keep supporting the music industry with the best solutions to legacy problems.
