The Obvious Epiphany I should have when I decided to Start to Write

Epiphanies are profound and obvious… and they will hit you at the times you least expect them to.

But what for? Success? But isn’t that subjective? So if there wasn’t any reason for me to continue what I was doing? Should I stop?

No. Enough with all the formula’s for success. Enough with, ‘it worked for them, so it’ll definitely work for you’ idealogy.

I write this now because after deciding to start a blog about 8months ago, this is my first post on Medium. Not my first draft … But my first post. And I’m just letting things flow at this moment. Because while trying to figure out how well structured the whole writeup is… Or whether people will relate to what I’m saying… I lost sight of the reason I started wanting to write. Because I enjoyed thinking out loud. And this is a way for me to express myself!

Sure the writing isn’t going to be anything great at the start. Maybe it’ll get better with practice, maybe it’ll stay the same. But anything beats procrastinating on one single draft for 8 months by putting it up on a pedestal and never finishing it. All this in chase of a perfect post.

I’ll definitely write more from now. Because I’m a firm believer in doing things not because you should, but because you’re passionate about it. And if i’m applying it to different aspects of my life like career and personal relationships — Why not keep it consistent across it all!?
